What Is In Your Hand?

What Is In Your Hand?

Paul Adams

When Moses was called by God to lead Israel out of Egyptian bondage. Moses expressed concern about people not listening to him. God asks Moses, “What is that in your hand?” (Exodus 4:2) God used Moses, and the staff that was in his hand, to do great things. God has given us work to do as well. He has also assured us that we are able to accomplish His work. Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13). We are able to do what God expects us to do!

We must use all that God has blessed us with to serve Him. What is it that God has placed in your hand?

The Word. “If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be-long the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:11)

Time. “Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.” (Colossians 4:5)

Abilities. “For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and be-yond their ability, they were freely willing, imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.” (2 Corinthians 8:3-4)

Influence. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill can-not be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14)

Opportunity. “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10)

The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) teaches us that God will not tolerate laziness. He expects us to be using His blessings in service to Him. What is in YOUR hand?
